Assistance Home Care has exceeded my expectations. We had originally contracted with a different home health care agency several months before my mom’s hip replacement surgery. Two days before the surgery, the agency called to tell me they could not find caregivers for her. Fortunately, the social worker at St. Luke’s Hospital recommended Assistance Home Care. Within two hours of being contacted by the social worker, an administrator was in my mom’s hospital room walking us through the process of setting up home health care. The day after my mom was released from the hospital, caregivers were in place for the requested 4-hour morning shifts. That night, my mom fell and we contacted Assistance Home Care for overnight care. The very next night, caregivers were in place for 12-hour overnight shifts. Two days later, the focus turned to my dad as his condition worsened. We reached out to Assistance Home Care yet again. Within a few hours of calling them, a representative was at the house to assess my dad’s condition and discuss how they could best meet his needs. Believe it or not, we had 24-hour care in place the very next day. Chris and his team have done an admirable job of finding and scheduling caregivers on extremely short notice. Our requests changed three times in less than one week and there was never a lapse in care. Not only did Chris manage to find new caregivers as our parents’ needs changed, he sought our input as he strived to select caregivers who would be a good fit with my parents. The Assistance Home Care staff has supported us in additional ways, including providing tech support, promptly responding to our many questions, and helping us understand the long term care insurance process. We are grateful to the staff and caregivers for helping us navigate this process and for taking such good care of our parents.
