When Assistance Home Care first opened its doors in 2011, our mission was simple yet powerful: to help families in St. Louis and St. Charles care for their aging loved ones at home with dignity, respect, and compassion. Like any new business, we started small: one office, a growing team of dedicated Care Professionals, and one very unique company car: a Nissan Cube.

The Cube wasn’t just transportation. Wrapped in our Assistance Home Care branding, it became a symbol of our promise to bring care and support directly into the homes of families who needed us most. Over the past 14 years, it carried our Team for 114,385 miles!

The Cube helped our Team stay connected with our Clients and their Families during Quality Assurance Home Visits. It transported clients to appointments. It carried medical equipment to families who needed it quickly. It even picked up and dropped off Care Pros so they could provide care where it was needed most — even in inclimate weather. In every sense, that little car helped carry our Mission forward to where it is today!

Cars have a way of holding memories, and this one was no exception. For a few years, both of our company Cubes even made an appearance in our Christmas card photos because they were truly part of the Team! The original Cube, purchased in 2011, was joined by a second Cube in 2013, and together, they became a powerful duo for our growing company.

But the Cube’s greatest contribution wasn’t the miles, it was the memories of the people we’ve served. Each trip represented a family finding peace of mind, a client receiving care at home, or a Caregiver being supported by our Team.

This past weekend, we officially said goodbye to our first company car. Instead of selling it, we chose to donate it to Kars4 Kids, one of the largest car donation charities that gives vehicles a second life while supporting children’s education programs across the country. Just as the Cube helped us care for Seniors and their Families in our community, it will now help make a difference for future children’s education, a full-circle moment we couldn’t be more proud of.

While we’ll miss the Cube, the memories it represents live on in the countless families we’ve supported. At Assistance Home Care, we know that home care is about more than just a service. It’s about relationships, trust, and being there for families when they need us most.

As we look ahead, our mission remains the same: to provide compassionate, reliable, and professional senior home care in St. Louis and St. Charles. Whether it’s dementia care, respite care, transportation, or daily support with personal care, our team is honored to walk alongside families every step of the way.

We’re grateful for every mile, every memory, and every opportunity the Cube gave us to serve. And just as the Cube has passed the torch to the next generation, we’re excited to keep moving forward, continuing to make an impact for seniors and their families throughout our community.
