Over a Decade of Pancakes and Purpose: The Original Pancake House and the St. Charles County Walk to End Alzheimer’s

In 2026, The Original Pancake House in Chesterfield, MO celebrates its 11th year providing the Champions Club Breakfast at the St. Charles County Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Since 2015, owner Gordon and his team, including Karen and Courtney, have served a catered breakfast on Walk morning to honor Champions and their families. Year after year. Walk after Walk.

About The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Champions

Champions raise $500 or more for the Alzheimer’s Association through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Some walk for a parent living with the disease. Others walk to honor someone they’ve lost. Their impact is nothing short of remarkable. Nearly 4,000 people registered for last years’ St. Louis and St. Charles Walks. Champions alone raised more than half of all funds across both Walk events. They make the ask. They share their family’s story. They rally everyone they know. For 11 years and counting, The Original Pancake House has made sure they feel celebrated, with a warm breakfast shared with family before the first opening ceremony of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

To the Local Businesses Who Want to Get Involved

The Original Pancake House didn’t have to write a big check to become part of this story. They made a choice in 2015 to say ‘yes’ and offered to do what they do best. They donated breakfast for the Walk’s Champions. Over a decade later, their name is part of one of the most meaningful mornings of the year for local families who go above and beyond in their fundraising efforts.
Every Walk runs on businesses like this. Whether it’s food, coffee, space, supplies, or time— If your business wants to get involved and make an impact, contact Jamie Lamprecht at jalamprecht@alz.org to learn how.

Assistance Home Care Returns as 2026 Champions Club Sponsor

After years of supporting the Promise Garden, Assistance Home Care became the Champions Club Sponsor in 2025. We are proud to return in 2026.
For us, this is personal. Our co-founder Sally Serfas spent five years helping care for her mother, Gearldean, after her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, while raising three children. Allen and Sally walked in their first Walk to End Alzheimer’s in 2009 in Gearldean’s honor. After losing her to the disease in early 2011, they founded Assistance Home Care in May of that same year, in her memory.
Today our professional Caregivers support family caregivers across St. Charles County and Greater St. Louis. That is why celebrating Champions means so much to us. And yes, we’re looking forward to the pancakes.

Special Gratitude to Steve & Angie Garner for Starting this Champions Club Breakfast Tradition

Back in 2015, Steve & Angie Garner rallied around the Champions of the St. Charles County Walk to End Alzheimer’s and set out begin a tradition that we still carry to this day of sharing a special breakfast as a part of the ‘Champions Club’ experience. We recognize and thank them for their years of service and volunteer work with the Walk Committee over the past decade and for entrusting our Assistance Home Care to carry the flame for future walks to come!
