Assistance Home Care Sponsors the Promise Garden at the 2024 St. Charles County Walk to End Alzheimer’s

On Saturday, September 28th, 2024, over 1,700 participants gathered at St. Charles Community College to take part in the St. Charles County Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This inspiring event saw 204 teams come together, raising an incredible $313,261 to advance research, care, and support for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Assistance Home Care was honored to sponsor this year’s Promise Garden—a powerful symbol of hope and remembrance for everyone touched by Alzheimer’s or dementia. The Promise Garden serves as a central feature of the Walk, where participants hold colored flowers that represent their personal connection to the cause.

Understanding the Promise Garden’s Flower Colors at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Each flower color holds special significance and represents a different story within the Alzheimer’s community:

  • Blue Flowers are held by those living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.
  • Yellow Flowers represent participants who are caregivers, providing crucial support to loved ones battling the disease.
  • Purple Flowers are held in memory of those who have lost their fight with Alzheimer’s.
  • Orange Flowers signify support for the cause and a vision for a world without Alzheimer’s.

The garden was a moving and visual display of the collective strength, love, and commitment of everyone involved.

Coming Together for a Common Goal to End Alzheimer’s

The energy on Walk Day was nothing short of inspiring. Families, friends, caregivers, and community members from all walks of life joined together with one shared mission: to raise awareness and end Alzheimer’s. Whether walking in honor of a loved one or to support ongoing research, every step made a difference.

At Assistance Home Care, we believe in the power of community to spark change. As proud sponsors of the Promise Garden, we are committed to supporting families on their journey with Alzheimer’s and dementia. This event highlighted the importance of these shared moments of advocacy, hope, and remembrance.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, or volunteered—you have helped make an impact that will ripple far beyond Walk Day. We look forward to walking alongside you in the future as we continue the fight against Alzheimer’s. Together, we can create a world without this disease.
