Veterans Day 2025
Sharing Gratitude, Service, and Connection With The Veterans Assistance Home Care Serves
Over the past week, our Team at Assistance Home Care proudly visited more than 20 of our incredible Veteran Clients to personally thank them for their service. Each visit included a heartfelt conversation, a small gift bag, and most importantly… a moment of shared gratitude and reflection.
Inside each gift bag, Veterans received a military-themed calendar, a personalized note of appreciation, and a framed poem written by Amanda’s daughter, Mia, dedicated to those who have bravely served our country. One Veteran, Vernon, lit up as he flipped to his birthday month, March, and saw a tank featured on the page. He shared that he had served as a tanker during his time in the military. Moments like these remind us of the powerful connections that can be made through simple gestures of recognition and care.
We’d also like to extend a special thank you to Amanda Schmidt, BSW, our Director of CarePlus and VA Program, for her continued leadership in supporting Veterans approved for in-home care services through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her commitment ensures that those who served receive the quality, compassion, and respect they deserve in the comfort of their own homes.
As a VA-accredited Home Care provider in Missouri, our Team is honored to partner with the VA to provide Homemaker and Home Health Aide Services for eligible Veterans. If you know someone who has served and may benefit from in-home care support, we are here to help navigate the process and ensure they receive the assistance they’ve earned.
Today and every day, we pause to honor our nation’s heroes—the men and women whose sacrifices protect the freedoms we cherish. This Veterans Day, we invite you to extend your own appreciation: share gratitude, ask about their stories, and offer a listening ear. Sometimes, the smallest gestures of kindness can mean the most.
