Together in the Fight: 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in St. Charles & St. Louis

Every fall, communities across Missouri unite to raise awareness, support, and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease. At Assistance Home Care, we’re honored to be part of this journey, not just as spectators, but as sponsors, advocates, and caregivers inspired by stories of courage, love, and memory. Below are the key details for the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in St. Charles and St. Louis, plus ways you can get involved and why this cause touches us so deeply.

Our History & Why We Walk

Assistance Home Care has supported the Alzheimer’s Association since we opened our doors in 2011. But our involvement goes back even earlier: our co-founders attended their first Walk to End Alzheimer’s in 2009 in honor of Sally’s mother Gearldean, who passed in 2011 after living with the disease. That personal connection continues to drive our dedication, every step, every dollar, every word of support matters.

The Real Impact of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Whether you live with Alzheimer’s, care for someone who does, or want to help build a future without this devastating disease, here’s how walking makes an impact:

  • Awareness & Education: The walks bring visibility to Alzheimer’s in ways few other events can, helping reduce stigma and increase public understanding.

  • Funding for Research & Support: Every registration and donation contributes to care services, caregiver support programs, and scientific research.

  • Community & Connection: These walks are about more than raising money. They’re about connecting with others who know the journey, offering hope, and showing people living with Alzheimer’s they are not alone.

  • Support for Caregivers: Sponsorships like Caregivers Corner help give caregivers a moment of rest, resources, and community things that often get sidelined but are vital.

How You Can Get Involved

Here are concrete ways you or your family can take part:

  1. Walk or Register — Join the walk itself, either individually or as part of a team.

  2. Volunteer — Many roles: setup, parking, registration, hospitality, etc. It’s a powerful way to help if you can’t commit to walking.

  3. Sponsor or Donate — Contribute to Alzheimer’s care, research, or support programs. Sponsors help make these walks possible.

  4. Spread the Word — Share information with your friends, families, local groups. Social media, workplaces, gatherings — every share matters. Use hashtags: #WalktoEndAlzheimers or #WTEA or #ENDALZ
