It’s Never Too Early to Start Giving: Supporting the American Parkinson Disease Association
At Assistance Home Care, we believe that giving back to the community is a year-round commitment and that it’s never too early to start. We’re excited to announce that we’ve kicked off another year of monthly giving to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), an organization whose mission we deeply admire.
In 2026, Assistance Home Care surpassed a major milestone in partnered giving to the APDA Missouri Chapter: over $50,000 in lifetime giving since 2014.
Why We Support the APDA Missouri Chapter
The APDA offers an incredible range of resources for the Parkinson’s community, from educational content and exercise programs to support groups and community events. One of the most meaningful ways they support families is through these support groups, which provide a space for sharing, understanding, and mutual encouragement.
Our Hands-On Involvement and Impact
For the past several years, one of very own Team members, Amanda Schmidt, BSW has had the honor of leading one of the largest APDA support groups in St. Charles. This is more than just financial support; it’s about giving our time and talent to create a meaningful difference in people’s lives. It’s a privilege to stand alongside the APDA and offer a space where individuals can come together, share experiences, and find support.
We’ve also shared several years of involvement and active participation in spreading awareness about the local Optimism Walks in the community. Our Team looks forward to the continued impact made by bringing families and individuals living with Parkinson’s disease together to take steps towards a cure!
Inspiring a Culture of Giving to the APDA
We believe that giving, whether it’s time, talent, or treasure, not only enriches the community but also strengthens the bonds within our own team. Our employees take pride in knowing that the company they work for stands for something bigger than just business. It’s part of our culture to support meaningful causes, and in doing so, we not only help the community but also demonstrate to our team the values we live by.
As we continue this journey, we hope to inspire others to start their own paths of giving, no matter how small. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
