Become a Certified Dementia Specialist Today!

At Assistance Home Care, our Care Pros do an amazing job of providing peace of mind to families who have a loved one diagnosed with dementia over the last several years. Person-centered care that recognizes someone’s specific diagnosis and forming it around to the core of who that person is, their interests and what they believe, is key to making a day meaningful.

In order to support our Care Pros and families further, Assistance Home Care is now offering the opportunity to become a Certified Dementia Specialist (CDS) to all of our Care Pros, which is am extensive training curriculum to ensure that our team can provide the highest level of care for our clients.  This program was put together in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association!

The CDS Certification is a 33 hour online training to explore dementia care and how to better serve our clients. The program explores the different “levels” of dementia, and reviews best practices for a variety of situations and behaviors. Topics include things such as dementia basics, navigating activities of daily living, making the days meaningful, and end of life dementia care.

Although our Care Pros are a wealth of knowledge and support, this program will further enhance our Care Pros with even client engagement to make it a smoother day for the client, Care Pro, and their loved ones!  Our goal is to have at least 100 new Certified Dementia Specialists at Assistance Home Care by the end of  this year!  If you are a Care Pro interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please reach out to and speak to your local office, Area Care Manager for more information: 314-466-3227 (314 Home Care)
