On Sunday, September 15th, our Illinois Team proudly participated in the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Naperville. Led by Allison O’Neill, Director of Illinois Operations, and Emily Wienhoff, Assistant Area Care Manager, they were joined by their families to walk alongside 1,300+ participants.
Held at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, 192 teams came together and raised over $293,000 to support Alzheimer’s research and care. The event serves as a reminder of the power of community and our shared commitment to ending Alzheimer’s.
Assistance Home Care’s tie to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s stems from our founders, Allen and Sally Serfas, who first participated in 2009 to honor Sally’s mother, who had Alzheimer’s. Their family’s original team, Walk4Walker, was named in tribute to Sally’s family name. Over 15 years later, Assistance Home Care is proud to have donated nearly $200,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association since opening in 2011.
We look forward to representing Assistance Home Care at two more Walks to End Alzheimer’s this year—St. Charles County on September 28th and St. Louis County on October 26th.
